Description
Photograph of a view of Hill Street, north from Ninth Street (night shot showing Christmas decorations), December 5, 1929. Christmas lights can be seen strung in the air, over the street car cable lines on Hill Street, glowing against the contrast of a dark night sky. On the sidewalks, each street light appears to be decorated with an elaborate medieval castle scene, and lights can be seen connecting each street light to its neighbor. Numerous neon signs can be seen decorating some of the buildings on Hill Street, most notably, the large "RKO Theatre" sign. Legible signs read: "RKO Theatre", "Herbert's Ca[fe]", "The Owl Drug Co.", "Court Drug Co.", and "May Co.".
