Description
Seven busts of women are depicted to illustrate hairstyles and hats. All the woman have their hair up and elaborately dressed and curled and most have curled bangs or a single curled lock at the front. The blond woman on the top left wears a white hat with a flecked brown on tan fur or ribbon edging the brim. Bright blue ribbon, bows, and plumes top the hat. She wears gold pendant earrings, and her dress is bright blue on white Tattersall plaid, cut on the bias, and edged with blue ribbon at the neck and bodice front. The neck has a white ruffle. The woman on the top right faces away and wears her hair with two ringlets at the nape of her neck. She wears the same white hat but with white ostrich plumes instead of blue bows. She wears gold earrings, and her dress has a plain white standing collar on her blouse, and a brown edging or collar on her jacket or dress. The woman in the center row, on the left, faces away and wears her hair up with the exception of one ringlet draped forward from the nape of her neck. Her hair is dressed with purple plumes and red and yellow flowers. She wears gold pendant earrings and a purple choker with a gold pendant. The low cut neck is edged with two narrow white ruffles and her dress has a lavender edging and bow. The woman in the center wears a black hat accented with two ostrich plumes and a gold brooch. She wears gold earrings. Her dress is gray with a high neck edged with a white standing ruffle with a rose pink bow at the neck and rose pink buttons down the center front. The woman in the center row on the right wears her hair dressed with pink plumes and pink and yellow flowers. She wears a three strand pearl necklace and matching earrings. The low cut neck is edged with white ruffles. The woman on the bottom left wears her hair braided in a coronet with one hanging braid. Her brown hat has a standing brim and is trimmed with brown plumes. She wears gold pendant earrings and her dress or jacket is turquoise with a standing white ruffled collar. The woman on the bottom right wears a dark brown velvet hat accented with deep green plumes and white veiling at the back. She wears pendant gold earrings, and her dress or jacket is tan with a white standing ruffled collar, and brown ribbon around the neck and tied in front.
