Photograph caption dated June 30, 1952 reads "A pearl necklace with pearl emblem of the Friars Club is presented to actress-singer Judy Garland, acclaimed as 'Little miss show business,' by George Jessel. Jessel said she is personally responsible for rebirth of vaudeville at Palace Theater in New York." Jessel was an American actor, singer, songwriter, and Academy Award-winning movie producer. He was one of the founding members of the California branch of the Friars Club.
