On the right a rocky ledge thrusts diagonally into the photograph; on a lower rock sits a man in a suit and hat who leans against the rocky ledge; in front of him is another man, sitting on a rock in front of the first man; and behind this second man a woman in a dark dress appears to lean forward to see the view while she stands on a rock; below lies Little Yosemite Valley; the people are on Clouds Rest; behind the Little Yosemite Valley rises a mound of rock and behind it forested mountains lead up to the distant mountain peaks in the background.
