Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of a large apartment complex, ca.1940. Many long, narrow two-story buildings can be seen. Most are rectangular, though there are several L-shaped structures as well. Narrow sidewalks connect the buildings to each other across grassy areas between the buildings. Cars can be seen parked on a road in the foreground at left. Several palm trees can be seen among the apartment buildings. In the background, a variety of trees and other buildings cover the side of a hill. This apartment complex appears to be one of the public housing projects built in Los Angeles between 1937 and 1953. One of them was Aliso Village (1942-1999).
