Description
A: Frontispiece of dark wood case carved - relief carving in floral or leaf pattern. Case sits on four rounded wooden feet. Clock face is 6.75" diameter. "Sessions" in black script on clock face. Brass rim around concave glass opens to clock face. Around top keyhole letters "F" and "S" are written. Back panel of case comes off - pull on small brass knob. Paper label attached to inside of back panel reads: "Eight-Day, Half-Hour Strike, Cathedral Gong. Turn Back. The Pendulum Ball and Key are fastened to bottom of Clock. Directions for Striking. In Order to make the Clock strike the hour desired, turn theh long hand up to twelve and allow the Clock to strike. Then turn back to nine and forward again to twelve. Continue in this way until the Clock strikes correctly. To Regulate. Should it be desired to have the clock run faster, place the small end of the key on the arbor at twelve and turn TOP of key to the left toward F. To run slower turn TOP of key to the right toward S." Written in pencil on label: "LE15-6-26 3373L" B: Key Dimensions: 2 ½" length, 1 7/8" width. Each end of the main shaft is a key for clock (small on top end, larger on bottom end). Two "eyes" - one on either side of cross piece. Three bands around shaft beneath crosspiece. Metal (rusty).
