Description
This film was likely recorded in the 1970s. It is believed the tape will provide descriptive information about the Inyo National Forest, a federal land use agency, who manages over a million acres of mountainous terrain in the Eastern Sierra. This forest greatly influences the culture, businesses, and lifestyles of residents in the region due to its dominance of land stewardship managing federal lands for various public uses. Since most human use on the Forest is primarily outdoor based, it is believed the film will describe the Forest's function in facilitating skiing, fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, etc. in the region. There may be some discussion of other forest uses as well including timber harvesting, mining, watershed management, wildlife management, etc. This forest accommodates more human recreational use than most others in the United States.
