Photograph caption dated April 3, 1980 reads, "A two-story apartment building that was being towed across railroad tracks lies demolished after a slow-moving freight train rammed it early this morning in Highland Park. One man sprained his ankle when he saw the train coming and jumped off the top of the building. The man had been making sure telephone and power lines were kept clear of the rooftop. A police spokesman said necessary arrangements had been made for the building to cross the track, but "while the apartment house was straddling the track, the train came through." The train's engineer said, "I came around a curve and there was a building across the tracks. I put on the brakes, but there was nothing else I could do." No damage estimate was available."
