Aylett Cotton was the son of an old San Francisco family and the grandson of Antoine Borel, a San Francisco pioneer who helped establish the cable car system and the Spring Valley water company. He was a prominent lawyer and lifelong resident of San Mateo. Gift of Marjorie Elston.
