Description
Contains a letter from Minoru Kishaba to Henry Y. Ikemoto with an envelope, and a letter from an 8th grader at Sunnyside Middle School, Lafayette, Indiana, with an article on their school project. In the letter, the 8th grader discusses their school project of creating a tapestry dedicated to Japanese American WWII veterans and requests help from Japanese American veterans in the letter. Minoru Kishaba received the 8th grader's letter and forwarded it to Henry Y. Ikemoto to plan on sending memorabilia to the school. The Henry Y. Ikemoto Collection contains correspondence, photographs, articles, chronologies, rosters, books, booklets, programs, reunion yearbook, and album. It depicts Americans of Japanese ancestry’s military service, mainly Anti-Tank Company, 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and Military Intelligence Service.
