Description

Ersin Z. Sivrican was born in Turkey in 1977 and emigrated from Istanbul to Los Angeles in 1995 with his family. His uncle had already lived here for 10 years with his wife and children. Ersin attended Santa Monica College and graduated from UCLA in 2001. He and his wife Giselle lived in Corona, CA.
Brothers Murat and Mutlu Sivrican (donor’s cousins) are seen just after their circumcision ceremony. They are pictured together in a bed while they recuperate from their incisions. The boys wear matching garments that consist of embellished pillbox hats which are part of the traditional ceremonial costumes. An intricate headboard, or possibly an ornamental carpet, can be seen on the wall directly behind them.
