Description
This building was used as the Red Cross Hospital in 1918. Prior to 1918, it was Wilson grammar school, later high school courses were added to the curriculum until a new high school building was erected at Los Robles Avenue and Walnut Street, and the high school classes were moved to this new location in 1904. Wilson School then continued as a grammar school for grades 6, 7, and 8. The fifth grade was added in 1913, and five years later the school became known as the "Opportunity School" until it was discontinued in 1924.
