Description
"2. Bild. Das Auto von vorn gesehen." ("2nd picture: The car as seen from the front."). In the center: the overturned car. The wheels and the bottom side are recognizable. Brother Schärf is standing on the bridge, giving instructions. On the right: some Africans are watching the scene.
Cf. photo nos. 11209, 11211, 11212. -- Hans-Peter Schärf (1898-1945) was a mission artisan of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. He served as head of the joinery in Rungwe and was married to Anna Gertrud, née Sikora (born 1904). -- Kurt Küchler (1908-?) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. He served in Kyimbila from 1936 to 1939. In 1938 he married Marianne Geisler.
