Description: Aerial view of the CALTRANS demolition on 1st street between Main and Spring streets in Downtown Los Angeles. Three Cleveland Bros. brand backhoes can be seen piling up debris, and a third seems to be "scooping off" more debris from the exposed building. A backhoe is a piece of excavating equipment consisting of a digging bucket on the end of an articulated arm (also called a stick or dipper). Photo similar to 00063137. Photo dated: August 16, 2005.
