Description
Aerial view of the CALTRANS demolition on 1st street between Main and Spring streets in Downtown Los Angeles. Three Cleveland Bros. brand backhoes can be seen piling up debris, and a third seems to be "scooping off" more debris from the exposed building. A backhoe is a piece of excavating equipment consisting of a digging bucket on the end of an articulated arm (also called a stick or dipper). Photo similar to 00063137. Photo dated: August 16, 2005.
