Photograph caption dated September 25, 1969 reads, "Lawyer Cletus Hanifin, left, confers with Paul Ferguson. Defendant faces death, despite younger brother's declaration of guilt." Brothers Paul and Tom Ferguson were tried and convicted for the brutal murder of actor Ramon Novarro. Both men served a prison term for the murder, but were released on probation in the mid-1970s.
