Photograph caption dated September 23, 1959 reads, "Mountain of clay - George Cook operates power shovel to mix two grades of earth used in manufacture of bricks at Valley Brick Co., 6151 Kester Ave., Van Nuys. Clay, which comes from company's pits at Agoura and Van Nuys property, is taken to first of three hoppers where blades of disintegrator grind it to powder form.
