"Med 80 elever i klassen" - En dansk lærer i Arcot skoleprojekt fortæller: Landsbyskolen her har fået nye flotte bygninger, og den har nu 2 klasselokaler til de første fem klasser på skolen. Foruden skolebygningen er der bygget en tilsvarende lærerbolig lige ved siden af, så man er sikker på, at læreren bor lokalt, er en del af landsbyen og kender den. Det er en utrolig fordel for skolen. Vi kan se, at det øverste af taget er hævet lidt. Der er ret højt til loftet i forhold til andre indiske bygninger. "With 80 students in the class" - A Danish teacher in the Arcot School Project is telling: This village school has new buildings, and by now 2 class rooms for the first five grades of the school. In addition to the school building, a similar teacher's accomodation is built - to ensure that the teacher is living nearby, and may be integrated in the local community life. This is a major advantage for the school. As you can see, the top of the roof is raised slightly, being higher than in most Indian buildings. The intention is to provide a cooler environment, and a hole at the top allows the heat to escape.
