Description
The Elks Lodge at 824 J Street was headquarters for the fraternal organization in Sacramento until the current structure opened at Eleventh and J streets in 1926. Furniture for the Lodge Room of the old four-story structure (a fifth floor was added later) was provided by John Breuner Co., who took a full-page advertisement out in a 1920 Elks Association Reunion Souvenir Book that stated “The furniture in Our Lodge Rooms is as good today as it was when installed 16 years ago.”
