Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated August 4, 1956 reads "Dominic Dimascio, left, heat (sic) custodian of new Cantara Street Elementary School in Northridge, and Frank Pacino, equipment foreman, check desks as they arrive to equip school. Furnishing Cantara took three days, included everything from pencils to blackboards. Equipment is stored in warehouses in downtown Los Angeles, under direction of school supplies and equipment branch headed by Joseph Spurgin. Other new schools opening during fall semester are Sunny Brae in Canoga Park and Saticoy Street in North Hollywood.
