Photograph caption dated January 6, 1989 reads, "Air of uncertainty: Royal High School students flee fumes from chlorine cloud that covered Simi Valley yesterday morning. Square-mile cloud that formed after leak at textile plant forced 11,500 residents out of their homes into the rain, injured 18 and caused major traffic snarls. Firefighters in protective "spacesuits" worked late into the evening to cap the leak."
