Description
Three women wear morning dresses for August 1798. The woman on the left wears a pale-yellow bonnet with a garland of leaves around the crown. It is fastened under her chin with a matching yellow ribbon. She wears a pink floor length Turkish Robe dress with swags of gathered white fabric around the neck. The fabric ties into a bow by her hip. Her sleeves are elbow length, and the lower half is white with an diamond pattern of black lines, and the upper half is pink. A narrow white lace ruffle trims the front edges and hem. The woman in the middle wears a pale yellow and white striped bonnet with a garland of small red and white flowers. The bonnet ties in the back with a bow. She wears a white round gown fastened with a narrow black belt at the raised waist of her gown. She has a green net cloak around her shoulders which drapes to the floor on either side. She wears yellow, pointed shoes. The woman on the right wears a lilac net bonnet with a black tassel on top. Her bonnet is fastened with a black ribbon tied under her chin. She wears a floor length white dress with a pleated bodice. A narrow ruffle trims the front edges, hem and neck. The sleeves are elbow length with two diagonal pleats and a single-button pointed cuff.
