Description
Note: Als Nr. 57 publiziert im Album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuenburg 1895.
Note translation: Published as no 57 in the album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer' (= 'Eighty pictures of the Gold Coast (West Africa) photographed by the missionary Fritz Ramseyer'), Neuchâtel 1895. - Caption there: "The village Akwasihu and Kwahu mountain. This little village lies at the foot of our Kwahu mountain whose peak can be reached in something under one hour. They path upwards is difficult and steep leading between cliffs and one often has to use hands and feet to get on. Three hours away lies Abetifi, 200 [sic - surely he meant 1200?] feet up, the highest point in the plateau." - Indeed the French caption gives Abetifi as 630 m above sea leave. (PJ).
