Description
Title supplied by cataloger.
Photograph caption dated January 6, 1985 reads, "Workers remove the wings of a private plane that crashed in a back yard half a block from the El Monte Airport. The pilot, Downey City Councilman Robert G. Cormac, 65, walked away with just an injured elbow, said El Monte Police Agent Tom Armstrong. Cormac had just taken off in his 1973 Cessna when the engine started sputtering and died. The plane partially landed on the roof of a house on Mulhall Street and ended up in the back yard. The $25,000 plane was destroyed, but the house suffered only minor damage."
