This is a photograph of a girl named "Anne Chong [of Buddha's Mountain pass, by Fr. O'Day's Taofuken mission] highly intelligent and what's more a very spiritual young lady, hopes to be a Kaying [now Meixien] Sister." Rev. O'Day was born in Pawtucket, RI. He entered Maryknoll in 1917 and was ordained in 1928. He was assigned to Kaying. He remained there apart from 2 brief furloughs until forced by health reasons to return to the U.S. in 1950.
