Description: Aerial view of Sawpit Canyon Dam located beyond Monrovia. The dam is 160 ft. high with a 57 ft. base. Construction was completed in June 1927, in plenty of time to impound the waters from the season's first rainfall. The record construction work of the district protects 120 miles of the 300 miles of stream channels, according to Engineer Eaton. Photo dated: December 13, 1927.
