Description
County supervisors were considering the complicated problem of dam No. 1 in the San Gabriel canyon. Chairman Herbert C. Legg warned that with only $5,708,653 remaining of the $25 million bond issue, work on the rock fill dam may have to be abandoned for lack of funds. Photo shows the dam as it appears now. The rock fill now rises to a height of only 25 feet of the 300 feet called for in the design. Legal problems complicate a proposed new design. Photo dated: February 18, 1935.
