Description
Photograph of an elevated view of Spring Street, looking north from near Ninth Street, February 25, 1931. Numerous automobiles can be seen below, driving or parked on Spring Street. People can also be seen walking on the sidewalk, below. Many tall buildings tower over the street, although the perspective is such that most of the buildings on the left side are obscured from view, while a long line of buildings can be seen along the right side of the street, all the way to the vanishing point, at middle left. Every building on the right side of Spring Street appears to be uniform in height.Note: similar to CHS-36935 Legible signs read: "German American Bank", "[...] Lane mortgage building", "State Mutual", "Corporate office building", "Great Republic Life", and "Central auto park".
