Photographic portrait of the profile of Ygnacio Alvarado, [s.d.]. He is visible from the waist up turned to face left. He is wearing a hat with the brim turned up from which a long black bushy feather trails. He has a short white beard and can be seen wearing a cape. His left arm can be seen folded across his abdomen. Born in the Mission buildings of the San Bernardino Mission, rancho owner Alvarado (after whom Alvarado Street was named) was the son of Francisco and grandson of Juan Neponucemo(?).
