Photograph article dated April 10, 1965 partially reads, "The largest American search operation ever undertaken on the Baja peninsula will begin tomorrow. The big 'if' so prevalent in Southern California for the past two weeks - weather - was a problem for awhile in making search plans. But generally fair conditions throughout the peninsula here finally signaled the movement of two of the nation's best search and rescue teams and three convoys of other private citizens. Their task is to find some trace of Harold Dean Slaght, 19, and Steven Bunch, 18, both of Canoga Park. The two youths disappeared nearly nine months ago in a lonely stretch of desert approximately 300 miles south of Tijuana." Photograph caption reads, "Searchers - Participants in the search for two missing Valley youths in Baja California make last-minute plans. From left are Jack Cressy, Reseda; Col. F. G. Phillips, Encino; Pete Condos, Burbank; Jack Munson, Montrose; Hal Holway, Montrose; Mrs. Martha Hutchison, Dr. C. C. Hutchison, Burbank, and Fred Dickinson, Woodland Hills. They are in three motor caravans taking part in the massive search."
