Description
A line of Japanese soldiers lying on their stomachs loading and firing their rifles. The caption of the stereograph suggests that these men are currently in battle, although they appear to be practicing. This is one of about 100 stereographs issued by Keystone on the Russo-Japanese War. Of that set, only about thirty are seen frequently. "Stereographs of the Russo-Japanese War are, in many respects, the most action-packed and successful war views ever published." (Darrah, The World of Stereographs, 187) The Klamm Collection has a partial set of stereographs, including 33 multicolor lithoprint stereo views, from the Russo-Japanese War series.
