Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated May 11, 1961 partially reads, "An ophthalmologist and a telephone company supervisor, who were working together two years ago as a circus clown act at parties, took time out one night to recall the fun of playing in bands. Today they are the leaders of an 11-piece German band. 'We play sauerkraut-type music,' quips Norman H. Beach, 11415 Christy Ave., San Fernando, who works for the Sunland-Tujunga telephone company. It was he and Dr. Ralph Klages, 4527 Glenwood St., La Crescenta, who were reminiscing about younger days. ('We're fortyish now,' says Beach.) A short time later they found four more men who felt the same way as they did and the band was born." Krausmier German Band (pictured) meets in La Crescenta in Bavarian garb.
