Description
Image of the Roosevelt Highway (later Pacific Coast Highway) and houses in an area known as the "Motion Picture Colony" along the beach in Malibu, California.
"The very newest picture of the far-famed moving picture colony at Malibu beach on the Roosevelt Highway above Los Angeles. Here live stars, directors, executives. The six or seven homes at extreme right have been built during the past year. Photograph by Adelbert Bartlett"--text, typed on verso. "1928"--text, handwritten on verso. "Adelbert Bartlett 535 15th Street, Santa Monica, Calif." and "By Courtesy of Carolyn Bartlett Farnham, Santa Monica, California"--text, stamped on verso. Title and date devised by cataloger based on notes on item. The Roosevelt Highway (later Pacific Coast Highway) opened in 1929.
