Photograph of the main entrance to the Shangri-La Hotel, Santa Monica, ca.1940. In the extreme foreground, a woman can be seen standing next to a Rolls-Royce and looking toward the hotel's entrance. A bell-boy carrying a luggage and a man holding the automobiles right-rear door can be seen near the woman. In the middle, at center, another hotel's employee is visible holding the hotel's door open. "Apartment Shangri-La Hotel" sign can be seen above the door. The hotel was opened in 1939.
