Description
Photograph of a painting depicting the exterior of the Mission Santa Cruz, ca.1900. A friar converses with another man in the clearing at center, next to a cross that has been driven into the ground. The main building of the mission stands behind them, the cloisters extending from it to the left and a wall to the right. A small window is situated at the second floor over the arched doorway. A tiered bell tower stands to the immediate right in front of the wall. The doors of the cloisters can be seen past a colonnade, spaced at regular intervals. Hills are visible in the background. What appears to be either a stream or a path is pictured in the foreground.
