Description
1989-1275. In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 34. A large two story with basement building sits on a corner lot; entry is to the left on long side up stairs and through a large archway; covered archway/entry is a one story block in front of the facade; on 2nd floor are 3 large arched windows above entry block with the one in center larger; quoins separate entry face with another 2 story wing; both sections have pitched roofs; on wing 1st floor has rectangular windows and arched windows on 2nd; students walks by building and model t parked in front of entry. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "erected in 1869. Former 'Washington Primary School'.Still standing, now being used as an 'extention school'"
