Photograph of the exterior of San Francisco's St. Francis Hotel, ca. 1905. The hotel as three identical tall brick towers all three are topped by flag poles, and American flags fly on the outside two, while a narrow banner is on the middle one. The hotel overlooks a park, at the center of which there is a tall marble column topped by a statue of a person reaching skyward. On the streets below, there are motor cars and the famous San Francisco cable cars. The hotel was destroyed by a fire on April 18, 1906.
