Caption, "In a downpour of rain and with a cold March wind blowing, the first steel for Unisphere is placed into position at the site of the coming New York World's Fair, in Flushing, L.I., New York. United States Steel American Bridge Division, builders of the Unisphere, hoist the first 'leg' of the tripod which will support the 120ft. globe"
