Families are gathered around the entrance to the pony rides in this scene of The Pike amusement park south of Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach. Towering over the pony rides and other attractions is the Cyclone Racer roller coaster, left. On the right is the Flying Coaster tilt-a-whirl. A sign on the tower by the tilt-a-whirl advertises "Octavo Picnic de las Estrellas de KWKW, Nu-Pike Fun Park".; In the 1950s, The Pike underwent a facelift and was renamed "Nu-Pike".
