He is holding a long pole in his hand between his legs, and his other hand rests on his knees. He is wearing a long jacket and tall boots, as well as a light-colored collared shirt. He is clean shaven and has wavy hair that is parted at left. He was a hunter, trapper, Indian fighter, and guide to Fremont.
