Description
A group of women are members of the Hollywood Studio Club and are posed in front of a board tracking success in their building campaign, under the leadership of Mrs. Cecil B. De Mille, Chairman. Leaders in the effort are: Mrs. Bowen, Mrs. Barrow, Mrs. Henderson, Mrs. Pye, Marion Fairfax, Miss Joy, and Mrs. Carter. The club succeeded in building a structure designed by architect Julia Morgan at Lodi Place and Lexington Avenue, for the purpose of providing housing assistance, with the Young Women's Christian Association, for would-be starlets who arrive in Hollywood. The building fund's goal was $150,000, and they planned to sell their present building on Carlos Avenue.
