Photograph caption dated September 26, 1989 reads, "Ventura Freeway was littered with the injured - 27 students and three adults - and traffic backed up for miles yesterday morning after a six-ton meat truck rear-ended a Los Angeles school district bus in North Hollywood. Most of the injuries were minor, but 11 ambulances took the children to five hospitals. CHP officers charged the truck driver with drunk driving."
