Description
Photograph caption dated April 22, 1981 reads, "Two men walked away from the wreckage of this two-seat plane, which crashed yesterday onto a San Pedro street, coming to rest against a chain-link fence. The two men abroad the rented Citabria, John Coliver and Jerry Clark, both of Long Beach, complained only of slight injuries and required no treatment. The plane went down shortly before 5 p.m. at the end of Western Avenue at Paseo Del Mar. FAA spokesman Bil Edmonson reported a fuel pressure problem to the tower at Long Beach Airport, their destination. He said they were trying to land on the highway at Cabrillo Beach, but came up short."
