Mary Pickford was a Canadian-born silent film actress, famously known as "America's sweetheart," co-founder of American Artists film studio, and one of the original founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Photograph caption dated November 21, 1963 reads "Mary Pickford, Beverly Hills resident since 1920, receiving first copy of 'New Book with the Gold Look' (1964 Beverly Hills city directory) from George Vandenhoff (at left), president, and J. B. Edwards, executive vice president, Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce. Presentation took place at Pickfair, famous home of the famous star, whose portrait is shown in background."
