Description
The former Coleman School, at 1711 Grand Avenue in San Rafael, was used as the Marin County Free Library's headquarters from 1942, until moving to its present location at the Marin County Civic Center. County Librarian Virginia Keating (second from left) supervised library operations, which included eighteen branches at the time of this photo, in March 1952. Her assistants, pictured from left to right are Freda Allen, Margaret Tracy, and Ida Goodrick.
