Photograph caption dated June 29, 1963 reads, "Alvyn Franck, circuit supervisor, and Shield Halvajian, assembly director, answer 10,000 rooming requests for Pasadena convention". More than a million followers of Jehovah God waited for the first around-the-world assemblies of Jehovah's Witnesses, a 10-week convention tour. The first of the "Everlasting Good News" assemblies opened on June 30, 1963 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, then moving to New York and touring around the world. Pasadena was the final assembly city, where the convention was held in the Rose Bowl from September 1 to 8, 1963.
