Interior view of the tomb of Ala-ud-Din Khilji in the Qutub complex. The walls are heavily decorated, with inscriptions and designs, and a corner of the sarcophagus is visible on the right hand side. The tomb has lost its domed roof. The building containing the tomb was also home to a Madarsa set up by Ala-ud-Din. ❧ This is one of a series of photographs contained in an album showing popular tourist attractions in India, the album was owned by an unknown Church of Scotland missionary who had probably taken the tour whilst working out in the region. Unfortunately there is very little information with the photographs as to there ownership or subject matter
