Description
Annotation translation: "An old Dajak man from Maruwai, and beside him a pillar (patogor) where a buffalo is slaughtered during death celebrations. This man, who always wears barkcloth, regards himself as too old to become a christian. In the background you can see the Barito River. The photographs was made in the little Dajak village of Dirung." Annotation: "Alter Dajak aus Maruwai, daneben ein Pfahl (patogor) an dem die Büffel beim Totenfest geschlachtet werden. Dieser Mann, der sich stets nur mit dem Rindenschurz bekleidet dünkt sich zum Christwerden zu alt. Im Hintergrund ist der Baritofluss sichtbar.
