Description
View of Steamboat on Sacramento River
Neponset No.2-A sternwheeler built by the Sacramento Transportation Company in 1894. Its weight was 224 tons. Its length was 125 feet. On November 2, 1921, the Neponset No.2 was snagged in the Georgian Slough. It was the last large steamboat to be sunk there. The Neponset was one of the so called trading boats. She was a floating general store and would go up to small sloughs and ports to sell to the inhabitants.
