Photograph caption dated July 17, 1962 reads, "Patriotic theme - Mmes. Clare W. Workman, front, Eugene Noneman, left rear, and Harley Smith make decorations for 'Star-Spangled Splendor,' the annual dinner-dance sponsored by Encino Republican Women's Club. Event will be held at 7 p.m. July 28 at the Encino estate of Mr. and Mrs. John Wayne."
